During the 1960's, the passion of two wheels ignited the idea for a dealership. Fall of 1964, that dream was recognized. At that time, a representative from the company interviewed the small-town brothers. For the next 25 years, excellence in Harley‑Davidson® motorcycles ran through the good and bad times. From the times when people wandered in from across the country, to the times when wives fed steak to the dog because of the late nights of working. The 90's brought on another chapter, with a new building on a new end of town, which provided a more spacious motorcycles show floor, more parts, chrome and expanded clothing. However, that room filled up quickly. Before long, the small-town brothers found themselves housed in the current building that services your Harley® needs to this day.
Back in the day, overhauling a bike with 25,000 miles on it was commonplace. The evolving of motorcycles brought on belt drives, better technology, fuel injection, and longer running bikes at 100,000 miles plus. Better paint, longer lasting tires, better bearings, and dealer support from the Motor Company furthered the experience. These changes lead way to new business plans and strategies. Everything from introducing a web presence, to furthering their local presence with poker runs and a H.O.G. chapter.
The growing of a small-town shop also allowed for the expansion of fabricating custom parts and the machining of damaged parts, specialties which Harley‑Davidson® Sales continues to grow. Able to meet customer's needs, from golf carts, antique bikes, all the way to the new computerized bikes, Harley-Davidson® Sales of Columbus is committed to customer service.
Throughout the years, flat track racing and hill climbing were always a nice way to spend the weekend. Closing the store and heading to Sturgis for some racing, bringing home trophy after trophy. While we may not ride off on such ventures any longer, we are still committed to making your experience on a motorcycle all that it can be.
After being in business in Columbus for half a century, excellence is almost complete. On our showroom you will find many bikes ready to be yours, along with all of the chrome accessories, and MotorClothes® Merchandise that you will need to enjoy your time out on the road.
